Synopsis

Cade: I tried. I really tried. I should be out of this small town by now, finishing my law degree and partnering up with my buddies, but I couldn’t resist one last street race. Now I’m sidelined in the hospital, and while my injuries will heal, I’m not so sure my voice will return. What kind of attorney can’t talk? Yeah, exactly. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to come back from this . . . until Tasha Montgomery reawakens every competitive bone in my body.

Tasha: I nearly watched Cade Wilson die on that lonely stretch of road. He’s damn lucky just to be alive, even if he doesn’t realize it. I know he’s destined for bigger and better things, but I don’t mind helping him get there as he relearns everything he took for granted. Cade’s a good student, a real perfectionist; I can tell how much his stutter bothers him. But when he lets his kisses do the talking, everything else disappears. And one day, maybe he’ll be able to tell me that he wants me—as much as I want him.

Shut Up and Kiss Me is the second book in the Lost Boys series. It’s connected to Fighting for Devlin but I don’t think you need to have read that to enjoy this one. The story is told in first person alternating between Cade and Tasha.Cade was badly injured in a street racing accident and, while his physical injuries healed, he is left with difficulty speaking. As a result, he just doesn’t talk and he’s abandoned his plans to become a lawyer.

Tasha is studying to become a physical therapist and she worked with Cade after he fired every other therapist he had. Once his physical injuries healed she also began working with him on his speech because no one else could stand to work with him.

Before his accident, Cade was a cocky, bad boy. He hit on Tasha when she was still with her now ex-boyfriend and she rejected him. Now, working together so closely, there is an attraction between them but she is afraid of getting hurt again.

It takes time, and there are a lot of ups and downs to their relationship, but the story has an HEA and things eventually work out in spite of Tasha’s father being a jerk and Cade not trusting rich girls; and OMG this book was so hot I thought my e-reader was going to burn my hands!

“Bad-boy” stories aren’t my favorite but I enjoyed reading this one. Jessica Lemmon knows how to tell a great story and I find her writing style very compelling. Even when the type of book isn’t normally my favorite, if she writes it I’ll read it.

About Author

Jessica Lemmon

My journey started several years before the release of my first book. Disenchanted by my sales job, I began searching for that “thing” I was put on the planet to do. I wanted to leap out of bed in the morning and be excited about my job. Surely, that existed for me…right? YES. Enter: writing super sexy heroes and sassy, fun heroines. I always knew I would be a writer or an artist, that my creativity would find a home with other people. It’s an honor and blessing to be able to share what I do with readers. Thank you for being here.
