Synopsis

THIS DEBATE IS HEATING UP MORE THAN JUST THE AIRWAVES…

Battling back from losing everything in a scandal that cost him the chance to be elected to the U.S. Senate, disgraced politician Caine Williams is learning to take things one day at a time. The opportunity to host a political talk show, Raising Caine, on PRIDE XM Radio, is the next step in getting his life back.

Up-and-coming Republican political commentator Darwin Edwards is hoping a guest appearance on Raising Caine will give him some national exposure and take his career to the next level. The last thing he expects is such a strong attraction to his annoyingly liberal co-host.

Impressed by the ratings brought in by Caine and Darwin’s broadcast, the powers that be ask Darwin to join the show permanently, and sparks begin to fly between the co-hosts both in and out of the studio.

Can Darwin and Caine learn to work together or will their budding attraction be nipped in the bud before it can evolve into something more?

This is a great series but the books also stand alone.

Double Talk is the second book in the On the Radio series but it can be read as a stand-alone, too. If you like reading series in order as much as I do, though, I highly recommend reading Pillow Talk first. It’s a great book and it sets up the rest of the series. On to Double Talk

Caine Williams was destined to succeed his father as a United States Senator until everything fell apart and his career was left in ruins amid a scandal. He was in the closet to most of the world until the scandal broke and then he went into the bottle. Later, the program manager at Pride XM Radio gave him a new start with his own radio talk show – Raising Caine.

Conservative political commentator, Darwin Edwards, is brought in to spend a week as co-host of Caine’s show but Caine isn’t happy about it. Darwin supports everything that Caine hates – or at least that’s what Caine thinks. Darwin had an unpleasant childhood, raised by his bible thumping Catholic grandmother who preached to Caine that the only was he could get to heaven was to suppress his “unnatural” urges and remain celibate for life.

After their initial meeting things quickly heat up between Caine and Darwin; the attraction between the two men is too strong to ignore. Caine won’t push things though, and lets things move at Darwin’s pace because he won’t be responsible for Darwin turning his back on what he’s been taught to believe.

I loved the by-play between Caine and Darwin but things just seemed to go too smoothly and I knew it wasn’t going to be that easy. When the hammer dropped I was stunned; I just hadn’t seen the magnitude of the problem coming. The chasm between Caine and Darwin became so wide I wondered how Ms. Pine was going to get them back on track to their HEA. Never fear, though, get them back on track she did. She also wrote a fantastic epilogue with some things in it that I sure didn’t anticipate.

The next book in the series, Country Talk, will be about Sam and Rhett (coming in December 2016) and I can’t wait to read it!

About Author

Pandora Pine

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse and their fictional black kitten, Jack.

She is forever grateful to her writer friends who brainstorm with her and help her corral all her plot tribbles. They can also be relied upon to delete her eclectic internet browsing history in the event of her sudden death. Said browsing history is filled with erotic research (Read: porn!) for her next novel.

In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot.

Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.

Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
