Grab your towel for this MMM Dragon shifter romance because it’s going to get hot!

A wonderful start to the series.  I totally loved Jory.  The youngest and favorite son of the High Galactic King and a goddess, he gives all the appearance of being a spoiled prince with a love of richly tailored clothes.  That is on the surface.  Reality however shows he’s a very conscientious and caring man that hides behind the spoiled facade in order to subvert his uncle’s slavery business and other unsavory practices around him.  He may appear effeminate and weak but he is far from it.  When Jory’s father tells him he’s banishing him to the dragon world to find his mate it comes as a shock.  More shocking is hearing that his oldest brother, the heir is plotting his death and the mating hunt is his father’s plan for thwarting the attempts.

Duke Valer Klarian knew the moment he saw the gorgeous young man at the spaceport that his search for his mate was over.  Still when a mate hunt was on there were rules to abide by for those participating.  Things like not announcing your familial connections or social standing.  So to Jory he was just his hot lover, Val.

King Raiston Dragonsbreath like his adversary the Duke has become disillusioned with the mate hunt.  For years he’s searched for his mate with no luck.  Then he spies Jory on the arm of Val at the mate hunt registration and knows his luck has changed.  Now he only needs to create a way to get Jory away from Val.

The combination of assassination attempts and two adversarial mates makes for a thrilling ride to HEA.  The lovemaking is intense and hot.  When a goddess selects two hot dragon shifters as mates for her son life most definitely gets interesting.  I loved reading Mate Hunt and think it was an awesome start the Dragon Men series.  I’d love to have seen a fuller developed story line but for a novella it was perfect for that short read before bed.

Another great MM dragon shifter novella

Nothing like a busy body uncle that just happens to be the High Galactic King deciding it’s time for you to get over mourning your deceased lover.  His solution… offer you up as mating material to a dragon king in exchange for mineral rights.  Of course, Tor had no clue when he arrived to negotiate for those rights that the offer had already been made on his behalf.  Life can be challenging enough with a space dragon bonded to you… a bonding that has blinded Tor from an early age, his only sight that which he shares with his dragon.  While spacial vistas are beautiful, the view of your loved ones is more precious than anything to Tor.  The one thing Tor never expected was to fall for King Naron.  Nor did he expect to be competing for the right to mate him.

King Naron is somewhat of an anomaly.  Unlike other dragon shifters his dragon has been silent all his life and he’s never had the ability to shift.  Finding one’s true mate is rather difficult without a dragon’s inherent senses to point the way.  One look at Tor and Naron’s dragon is awakened.  If there is one sure sign that he has found his mate, Naron knows it is this.   But now he has the political quagmire of a mate test to see through.  Like it or not he’s going to have to give fair chances to the others that have come to compete and contend with those who may not have the best of intentions.

Mate Test is a great addition to the Dragon Men series.  Two men that for all appearances might be handicapped are far from it and what they bring to each other more than makes them whole.

A dancer willing to stand for his beliefs.

One thing I like about each successive novella in this series is that a little more of the dragon world’s culture is unfolded for the reader and builds on the novella before it.  Each of them stands alone.  However, the reader gets a better appreciation for the world that unfolds when they are read in order.

In Mate Dance, Raven is an intergalactic dance star who has just finished performing on the dragon world of Dragait when he finds a little girl weeping over her dead grandmother in an alley.  When the authorities come to assist him with the little girl, Trisha proves very reluctant to go anywhere without him.  When it’s discovered that she in fact is the daughter of Prince Kaemon, Raven finds himself the reluctant guest of local royalty… that is until he meets the seductive Prince Kaemon.

With Prince Kaemon’s dragon screaming mine, he’ll do anything including using his newly discovered daughter’s attachment to Raven to claim the mate he knows is his.  Unfortunately, he’ll have to deal with an ex-lover and rabid fan to keep his new mate.  While a great addition to Dragon Men series I would recommend reversing the order of reading for books three and four to fit chronologically.

Turning up the heat on the way to HEA

While each of the previous novellas have had sub arcs of suspense and elements of danger within their stories, the first and the fourth were better developed.  That development is what makes the difference between a 5 star and a 4 star for me.  Both of these books were better able to capture my interest and emotions as a result.  So if you are looking for a great MM dragon shifter read to fill your evening, Mate Healer is a perfect one to consider.

When Lian Blythorpe accepts a post on Dragait to research why the dragon shifters are having fertility issues he never expected to find himself mated to the planet’s religious leader.  Hindsight and all that.  Had he known the man who generously offered him a ride to the hospital was THE religious leader he might just have run the other way in record time.  Running however was not in his cards when instant attraction found him bound to a new mate.

Nevair has kept himself chaste although chastity is not a requirement of his profession.  In fact, the pontifex  appointment on Dragait is often passed down from father to son.  Recently the counsel has been pushing for him to mate.  At the forefront of this push is his assistant.  And while Nevair knows Tres has always held out hope that he will be picked as Nevair’s mate, Nevair knows that a friendship does not necessarily mates make.  Nevair holds out hope of finding his true mate.  When he happens upon a newly arrived and lost Lian healing one of the dragonkin, Nevair discovers that his days of chastity are gone in the blink of an eye for when a dragon meets it’s mate it’s a done deal.  Now he just has to convince his reluctant mate.

Life however couldn’t possibly be so simple.  Jealousy and corruption put the future of dragonkin at risk.  Lian has his hands full solving the mystery of who is poisoning the dragonkin.  Nevair will have every ounce of his faith tested as his mate is challenged to a trial by fire.  It’ll take the love a goddess to see these two to their HEA.  Dragon Healer is a great addition to the Dragon Men series that I couldn’t put down.  I am so looking forward to what Ms. Kell comes up with for the final king of Dragait… the feral king.

About the Author Green

Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life, he told her to go have fun.
During those seconds she isn’t writing, she remembers she has children who humor her with games of ‘what if’ and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.

Despite her husband’s insistence she doesn’t drink enough to be a true literary genius, she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.

She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres.
