Synopsis

The teacher and the student. The stable hand and the single dad. First times and friendship turn to love.

Toby
There’s nothing attractive about a twenty-four year old virgin, especially not one who blushes every time a hot dude looks his way. But I can’t help the heat that ripples through me every time I see Cole Maguire. And the clench of my heart when I realise how unhappy he is. He’s a city boy with a baby on his hip—we have nothing in common—but if he can teach me how to own my sexuality, perhaps I can teach him he’s worth loving.

Cole
I don’t like horses. But I love my daughter, and there’s nothing I won’t do for her, including leaving the city for life on a farm. I’m ready for that, but I’m not ready for blushing stable hands who make my heart race and my blood run hot. Toby has no idea how beautiful he is. I can teach him that, if he can handle the heat, but after one night with him…damn.

Maybe it’s me that has a lot to learn.

The Sex Coach is an MM summer romance with first times, a virgin stable hand, a single dad pilates teacher, and guaranteed happy ending.

Nice slow burn romance!

I became a fan of Garrett Leigh’s books about two years ago and I think I’ve read everything she’s published since then. However, she also has a pretty big backlist that I’ve yet to catch up on. I guess I said all of that to let you know that The Sex Coach is a complete standalone but it is also set in the world of her Skins series.

This story is pretty tame as far as the sexy time goes but that doesn’t stop it from being very sensual; it’s a great slow burn story. Toby hasn’t completely figured out his sexuality. He likes women but he’s also pretty sure he leans more towards men even though he hasn’t been intimate with any.

Cole comes to work at the ranch where Toby has lived since he was sixteen. He’s a single father and hasn’t found any male companion, hook up or otherwise, who wants to stick around after they find out he has an infant daughter. Cole is very attracted to Toby but doesn’t think that Toby will want to be any more than friends because of Ella and because he’s considers himself broken.

When Cole realizes how inexperienced Toby is (Cole loves the way Toby blushes), he offers to help him explore whatever he wants to – thereby becoming his sex coach.

For fans of the Skins series I’m sure you will enjoy visiting again with couples from that series as they appear frequently in this story. However, the main romantic focus is on Toby and Cole. They explore things together, become friends and then so much more. When Cole finally opens up and lets Toby know some of his secrets, he’s sure that Toby won’t want to pursue a romance with him but he couldn’t be more wrong.

This is a pretty low angst story and I really loved reading it. I would make one comment though. I felt like we maybe should have learned more about Cole’s relationship with Ella’s mother. That knowledge is, obviously, not required to enjoy this book, it’s just something that I would have like to know just a bit more about.

The Sex Coach is a story that held my attention from beginning to end. Garrett Leigh has written another winner for me.
