Love wins out.

I don’t read a lot of Harlequin books any more (let me be clear, this is not because I disrespect them) but I have a few favorite authors that still write for them so I’ll read their books.

Chase and Miriam (Mimi) met 10 years ago and fell in love. He sent her away to protect her, but didn’t really let her know why, and broke her heart. They meet again 10 years later, when Chase vacations in a town near where Mimi lives and the flame is reignited.

This is a good forced proximity, as well as second chance, story and second chance stories are one of my favorite romance tropes. The sex in this story is HOT and I’m pleased to know that Harlequin has progressed from the days when I man’s cock had to be called a member and can now be called a cock or dick. ?

By the end of this book I was crying both sad and happy tears and that always means that a book was worth the time I spent reading it.
