This book really touched my heart.

Braeton & Drew is the fourth book in the Something About Him series but it can be read as a standalone. This story really touched me. It’s told in first-person POV with chapters alternating between Drew and Braeton. Braeton is flashy, flamboyant and there is no mistaking that he’s out and proud. He grew up in a small town where he didn’t fit in so he left after he graduated from high school. His family didn’t disown him but they still think he’s going through a “phase” and will eventually settle down with a nice girl.

Drew is the exact opposite of Braeton. He loves sports and beer and hates shopping and fashion. His family didn’t disown him either but they are disappointed that he didn’t become a doctor and join the family business.

Drew’s boss thinks that he needs some sprucing up so he is sent to the salon where Braeton works as a stylist. When they meet Drew is definitely attracted to Braeton.

–I noticed there was no list of services with prices like at my comfy little barber shop, which meant I would be paying a pretty penny for this posh-ification. But, if it brought me bigger clients, then it was worth it.
–An attractive, tall, lithe man sauntered toward the front working his electric blue button-up and stylish jeans like a fashion model. Eyeing me from head to toe, he smiled flirtatiously. “Hi there. What can I do for you today?”
–Finding myself mesmerized by his beautiful brown eyes for a moment too long, I stumbled over my words a bit, “Oh, um, hi. I’m supposed to have an appointment with Braeton?”
–“Oh, honey, I’m sure you’d love to have an appointment with me, but I can assure you I’d remember putting you on my schedule. And, sadly, you aren’t there.” He winked. The man was gay, no question about it. I was usually put off by guys who were so much more out there than me, but Braeton was hot and beyond intriguing. I was drawn to him. The last time a guy had made my stomach flutter was in gym class my junior year, but Braeton definitely brought out the butterflies.

Both Braeton and Drew want to settle down but they both also have a lot of insecurities when it comes to relationships. Their differences seem to complement each other and everything is going well until Braeton makes a huge mistake.

I loved the relationship between these two; their chemistry came through loud and clear and the sexy time was HOT! Ms. Ellis has crafted another fantastic story in this series. I liked how she included a business in the story that wanted to be inclusive for everyone.

“We started this line of spas/salons with the hope that they would be open, welcoming, all-inclusive. We want people of every physical shape and ability, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality to feel that our establishments have just what they are looking for.”

I have really enjoyed reading this series and hope that there will be more stories coming.
