Synopsis

Devastated by a cheating scandal that ended his marriage and nearly ruined his online dating service, PillowTalk.com, Logan Reid is a man on the verge of ending it all. A phone call out of the blue from the program manager of PRIDE XM Radio pulls Logan back from the brink. A job offer to host a late night call-in show for the lovelorn called Pillow Talk is a last shot for Logan, who is struggling to find a way to start over.

Bostonian Greyson Montgomery is dealing with a personal scandal of his own. Homeless and jobless after a disastrous relationship, he’s forced to move back in with his parents and rebuild his shattered life. Alone and miserable, he tunes in to the debut of Pillow Talk and decides to call the dulcet-toned host with his own tale of heartbreak.

Ratings at PRIDE XM soar after Greyson’s call to Logan, triggering the program manager to invite Grey to co-host Pillow Talk for a few weeks. This doesn’t sit well with Logan, who thinks Grey is trying to steal his job.

Are these two broken hearted men too damaged to trust again, or will they take the opportunity to share some Pillow Talk of their own?

I loved this book!

This seems to be my summer for discovering new authors who write M/M romances. Some have been just OK, some have been less than OK and others have been very good to great. Pillow Talk is the first book I’ve read by Pandora Pine and it’s a keeper. It’s the first book in her new On the Radio series. Pillow Talk stands alone and has an HEA for Logan and Grey but Ms. Pine also sets things up for additional books about the rich cast of secondary characters who also appeared in Pillow Talk.Logan Reid has been betrayed by his husband and becomes the talk of the scandal rags. Not only was he personally devastated by his cheating husband, his online dating service for gay men, was left in ruins. He’s about to end it all when he gets a call from the owner of Pride XM radio with an offer to host a call-in talk radio show.

Greyson Montgomery knows a little bit about personal relationships gone bad. He’s had to move back in with his parents after his former boyfriend made his life miserable and caused him to lose his job. When he hears the Pillow Talk radio broadcast he calls in to share his story and commiserate with Logan.

Logan can’t seem to forget the voice of the second person to call into his radio show. “Fifty Shades” story resonated with him and he keeps thinking about his story and voice long after the program ended. When Fifty Shades calls into the show again the next week to challenge advice that Logan gave a caller, their on-air chemistry really makes the show shine – enough that Logan’s boss invites Fifty Shades to come and guest host with Logan for two weeks.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction of all of the characters in this story. Yes, the primary focus is on the relationship between Logan and Grey but Ms. Pine has integrated several additional characters into the story which really added to my overall enjoyment of this book.

Logan and Grey’s relationship definitely has a rocky road to travel before they get their HEA. I wanted to knock some sense into Logan at times for hurting Grey, but what good is a romance story without some conflict between the characters? Real life has conflict and emotions and so do the best stories. This one had tears running down my face at times – a sure sign that I’m feeling deeply about the characters and loving what I’m reading.

I am really looking forward to reading the next story in this series.

Look for my review of Double Talk coming soon.

About Author

Pandora Pine

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse and their fictional black kitten, Jack.

She is forever grateful to her writer friends who brainstorm with her and help her corral all her plot tribbles. They can also be relied upon to delete her eclectic internet browsing history in the event of her sudden death. Said browsing history is filled with erotic research (Read: porn!) for her next novel.

In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot.

Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.

Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
