And another one bites the dust!
The Promiscus Guardians are dropping like flies. One by one they are falling to the love bug. Hmmm or perhaps I’m jumping the gun on that pronouncement. After all this is only the second in the Guardians In Love series. However, with the previous three novels in the related Promiscus Guardian series plus these two you definitely get the feeling that all of the wonderful and quirky secondary characters that Ms. West has created just have to be slated for their very own romance. Pavel just happens to be one of my favorites from the start and I’m so happy to see him meet his match in Eve. This obnoxious flirt finally gets what’s comin’ to him and maybe a bit more.
Like all of Ms. West’s heroines I fell in love with Eve from the git go. She’s full of spice and vinegar that is the perfect foil for Pavel’s playboy mischievousness. She’s got kick butt awesome skills with her weapons let alone the hidden powers she’s developed over the years. Unfortunately, she has no clue that the powers she has now are just the tip of the iceberg and the Dark has their evil greedy minds on capturing her for their cause. When Pavel rescues her from their first attempt and declares himself her protector she finds herself immersed in a whole new world. Having powers isn’t so unique in this group of guardians she’s introduced to. Now she has her hands full learning all the new powers that are coming online, trying to recall her origins, avoiding a pesky guardians advances and craving his every touch.
If Pavel thought Izzy (heroine of the Promiscus Guardians series) was the end all, be all. The love he feels for Eve leaves all those mixed up emotions riding in the dust of what he’s feeling now. Where Pavel was the forlorn gorgeous flirt always a day late and a dollar short with Izzy, he really shines out as the right protector and more importantly the right man for Eve. This is one hero that you will either want to clobber, strip or grab hold of and never let go. There are times when those impressions will give you whiplash with how quickly you can feel each in quick succession.
Ms. West once again pens a winner with Pavel. Her characters are quirky and loveable. She’ll have you feeling the full gamut of emotions. The interplay between Pavel and Eve will often have you laughing out loud at their antics or wiping a brow at the steamy lovin. Pavel is most definitely a keeper in my library and a great addition to the Guardians In Love series. Get ready for an awesome romantic fantasy. I can’t wait to find out who the next victim… er I mean hero will be. 🙂

“Am I going to have to start locking my door to keep you out?” I asked with a secretive smile distorting the venom in my words.Pavel brushed his lips across my forehead, breathing my scent in from the top of my head as he squeezed his hold on me. “Only if you want me to break it down, you feisty minx.”
Sighing, I allowed myself to give in this once and loosely wrapped my arms around his strong waist, sensing the sudden tension of hardening muscle with my slightly uncharacteristic action. “Guess not. I sort of like that door.”
“Must give into me then, I’m afraid. I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll take down that damn door without so much as an apology.” His boyish smiled tore down all of my remaining fight as he chuckled at his own joke.
“What was I thinking, letting the big bad wolf into my room?” I teased, fingers daring along the deep grooves in his back.
Pavel’s gorgeous eyes were luminescent in the soft glow of moonlight. “That you were wishing and praying this big bad wolf would eat you right up.” His eyebrows waggled at me, and I couldn’t stop the burst of giggles that dislodged from my throat with his childish antics.
“I’m thinking you’re a right perv is more like.” My hands skimmed across sleek muscle in his shoulders, barely able to do little more than attempt to feel just how strong he was.
“More than happy to oblige you, printsessa.”
Pavel’s lips slipped from their place on my hair and feathered across my cheek before he was dipping lower and pressing a hot kiss to my neck and shoulder. My breath hitched as he nibbled the flesh he found there, deriving electric sparks of pleasure and causing my fingers to curl into his powerful back. His hand brushed away the soft fabric of my night shirt, further exposing my shoulder as his mouth followed the line of it to the curve, pressing a tender kiss there before venturing lower still.
Pushing me onto my back, Pavel hovered over me, holding down my wrists to the mattress as he straddled my form. “I want you, lubov moya. More than I’ve ever wanted someone before. I want to hear your moans of pleasure as I worship your body. I need you so badly, it causes me pain.”
