Synopsis

After narrowly surviving a bus crash in high school with his best friends, science geek Knox Davis resolved to become so successful that he could have anything and everything he wants. Now he’s über-wealthy, a huge business success, and a notorious ladies’ man. Knox refuses to limit himself to one woman, but when his latest conquest—a blond beauty from the Alaskan bush—challenges his superficial ways, Knox begins to see the world through her eyes, and finds he likes what he sees.

A nurturer at heart, Madison Abbott wants to put down roots. She left Alaska to meet Mr. Right—and to track down Logan, the half-brother she’s never met. Instead, she finds Knox. Although the sexy-as-sin bachelor may not seem like marriage material, Madison’s starting to think that Knox is The One. But Knox refuses to settle down, especially once he learns that Madison is his best friend’s little sister. Now it’s up to her to convince Knox that she’s everything he really wants.

A great story with a tenacious heroine.

Wanting It All is book 2 in the Naked Men series but it can be read as a standalone without feeling like you missed anything. The author does an excellent job of letting you know facts about the group of men that the series is about. Each title in the series is about an individual couple with appearances by the other characters in the group. I really enjoyed book 1, which was my first book by Christi Barth, but I loved book 2 which centers on Madison and Knox.

We met Knox in book 1; he is the scrawny, geeky kid turned hunky multi-millionaire of the group. Knox has it all now, money, women falling at his feet and a group of men he considers his brothers, but it wasn’t always so. In high-school he was the poor kid who wore hand-me-downs from his friends and he was a skinny geek that most of the kids made fun of. That is until he was adopted by his group of “brothers.” Now, after his mom, they are the most important people in his life.

Madison is the new girl in town. She moved to D.C. with several goals in mind: get a great job, find a husband, and connect with her half-brother that she only recently found out about. She meets Knox soon after arriving to begin her dream job at the Library of Congress. They have an instant connection but as time goes on Knox, a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy, doesn’t know what hit him and he gets scared.

I loved that Madison was such a strong heroine; she’s a perfect match for Knox, if he will just wake up and realize it. She’s caring and thoughtful and truly enjoys everything she is experiencing in her new environment. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to go after it.

Ms. Barth’s writing style kept me wanting to read this book straight through; so much so that I got irritated when life forced me to put it down. This series is turning out to be such fun to read. While this book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger – Madison and Knox get their HEA – it left me anxious to read book 3, Giving It All, which will be about Madison’s brother, Logan.
