Twelve years later, an accidental meeting brings them back into each other’s orbit. Things didn’t end well before. Can they end well now? If one night is all they have, how can there be anything wrong with making the most of it?

I wanted to smack these two but I liked the story.

This is a quick read at only 54 pages so there’s not a lot of time for character development. Rory and Bradley loved each other in high school but Bradley wasn’t willing to come out so they parted badly. They meet 12 years later after no contact at all since their breakup. They both still love each other but they don’t know how to be together. Nothing has really changed; Bradley still won’t come out which is a deal breaker for Rory.

There was a lot of angst for such a short story and I wanted to smack one or both of them at various times. There’s no cliffhanger and things work out in the end. For an M/M story, the sex in this one is pretty tame.

Accidentally Famous By Celia Blyth

Synopsis

The whole world knows who you are . . . but you’ve forgotten everything since high school.

Somehow Caleb transformed from an eighteen-year-old, sexually questioning, reclusive high school student who spent his free time composing and practicing music in his parents’ shabby council flat to become a world famous rock star with adoring fans and his own mansion in Beverly Hills.

Caleb bravely tries to fit into his new life as he recovers from his amnesia. But who is the handsome young Latino publicity manager who visits him in the hospital? Why does everyone think Caleb is straight? What has Caleb forgotten? And will he ever remember?

This story was originally published as I Was a Famous Rock Star under the name Alexandra Ainsworth. The book has been significantly revised and reedited.

I enjoyed this very much.

This is the first book I’ve read by Celia Blyth and I enjoyed it very much. After falling off of a stage Caleb doesn’t remember the last 5 years of his life; he thinks he’s still 18 and is shocked to learn that he is part of a famous boy band. He’s also disheartened to learn that he’s supposedly an alcoholic and drug user; he never thought he’d ever do anything like that. When he wakes up after being in a coma he hears a wonderful voice that he doesn’t recognize. When he sees Mateo he feels a connection that he can’t explain and feels desire that he’s not sure what to do about.

This story had a lot going on and it definitely kept my attention. I can’t imagine losing 5 years’ worth of memories. Caleb has to reconcile the person he remembers being with the person that everyone says he is now. He remembers that he knew he was gay but never came out. Now he has to face the fact that everyone believes he is straight and fight the attraction to Mateo that he can’t seem to forget.

Synopsis</a

Vance is having a terrible day, and the crowning insult is his lost luggage, which contained all the suits he needed for the conference he’s attending. An unbending perfectionist, he refuses to settle for some cheap, shoddy substitute.

He is directed to Ethan Adler, a supposedly brilliant tailor who proves to be too brash, proud, presumptuous, and handsome to possibly be any good at his job. When he completely ignores everything Vance says, set on his own design, Vance is determined to teach him a lesson—but it’s a lesson that may cost him far more than a perfect suit.

A very good short story.

I haven’t read any short stories quite like this one. Because it’s a short story there’s really not much time to give any character background or development. However, I thought the authors did a good job of letting us know that Vance was an egotistical a-hole and that Ethan won’t be a doormat. After Vance thoroughly humiliates Ethan he soon realizes how badly he behaved and becomes quite contrite. Sparks begin to fly and the two finally give in to their lust for each other.

I enjoyed this story for what it was – a rather short vignette about two people who really have nothing at all in common. There were a few pretty hot scenes and over all I found this a quite enjoyable well written short piece.

Love on Fire by Zach Jenkins

Love on Fire By Zach Jenkins

Genre: Contemporary Romance / GLBTQ / MM

Released: June 13, 2016

Publisher: Self-published

Series: Firefighters on the Fox, Book 1

Synopsis

Firefighters don’t date other guys.

Clay Brown has always wanted just one thing: to be a firefighter. He even has the girl of everyone else’s dreams, until she dumps him to chase her own career. Newly single, Clay bumps into the only guy who ever made him feel alive – and who he almost kissed back in high school, before losing his nerve.

He burned me before. Never again.

Ezra Kaufman may be lonely, but he’s not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice. When Clay saves his mother, Ezra is smart enough to keep his distance. Clay may send out all the right signals, but Ezra knows from experience that the hot firefighter isn’t willing to go public with an openly gay man like him.

Some fires refuse to go out.

Once sparks fly there’s no going back, but can there possibly be a future when both men fear commitment, or will it take the heat of a fire to forge something new?

Love on Fire is a steamy, standalone gay for you romance novel with no cliffhangers.

This was a good story and I enjoyed reading it a lot.

Zach Jenkins is a new to me author. I love M/M romance stories and hunky firefighters so I couldn’t pass up the chance to read this one when I was offered the opportunity to read and review an ARC (advanced reader copy).Clay and Ezra had an almost “moment” years ago when they were in high school but Clay is straight and Ezra is not. The two reconnect many years later when Ezra returns home to help his mother. The problem is that Clay is still running from his feelings and Ezra doesn’t want to be anyone’s dirty little secret.

I thought the writing for the story was good. There was just the right amount of tension, sexual and otherwise, between the characters. I like the way the chapters alternated between the thoughts of Clay and Ezra but wasn’t told in first person. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A very enjoyable, quick read.

Omega Healed is the first MPREG (male pregnancy) story I’ve read and my first book by Ryan Gray. It’s book two in the Fated Omegas series but it’s not necessary to read the first book and this one has an HEA.I won’t repeat the blurb but I’ll say that I enjoyed watching Liam’s and Zeke’s relationship develop and I would certainly read more books by this author.

While Omega Healed wasn’t quite as spicy as most M/M stories I’ve read, I could feel the connection between Zeke and Liam and the sweet and spicy combination was very nice. The writing and the story kept me engaged and I was eager to see how things would turn out.

Because this is a pretty short novella (25,000) I didn’t expect much character development but Mr. Gray did a great job of telling us what we needed to know to enjoy the story.

What a fun, sexy story. I loved it!

This is a pretty quick read at around 102 pages and what a fun, sexy story it is.Matt is a cop who was shot during a routine stop for expired tags. He’s not coping too well with things. He’s nervous about ever going back on the street but he can’t let his macho father and brother (both also cops) know or he’ll never hear the end of it.

Berlin just moved in next door but his power wasn’t turned on. He seeks out Matt to use his phone to call the power company. Matt is surly and almost nasty to Berlin but Berlin doesn’t take offense. Instead Berlin inserts himself into Matt’s life and before you know it they become friends and then more.

This was a refreshing story to read. I enjoyed how Berlin was able to draw Matt out of himself and get him to look at life in a different way. The story made me smile at the antics of Berlin and it made me sad for the state that Matt was in at the beginning.

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Blaine. It was entertaining and kept me engaged throughout the entire story. I felt that it was very well written and would enjoy reading more of her work.
