Fantastic! I couldn’t put it down.

This is the first book I’ve read by Dana Marton. It was a freebie on Amazon and I’m so glad I downloaded it. The only problem I had with this book is that I started reading it way too late at night. I literally fell asleep holding my Kindle (it was sometime after 3:00 a.m. at that point). When I woke up I couldn’t wait to finish reading the book.

For me there was just the right amount of suspense, romance and heat. While I thought I had figured some things out I was way off. While there is not what I consider a cliffhanger for this book (there is a happy for now) I was definitely left wanting to read the next one in the series; I can’t wait to start reading it after I finish this review. All of the Broslin Creek books are now at the top of my TBR list. A really great book.

Another fantastic Broslin Creek book

Another great book by Dana Marton. The second in her Broslin Creek series it stands completely alone but is set in the same location as the first with familiar secondary characters.

I must admit that romantic suspense hasn’t usually been at the top of my reading list. But I got the first book free from Amazon and after I read it I had to keep going with the series. This book was just as good for me as the first.

The lead characters are both tortured by things from their past and the story kept me guessing until nearly the end. I can’t wait to start reading the next book.

Synopsis

Sophie Curtis is a heart-transplant recipient with some spooky body memories. She’s been in her own antiseptic bubble for so long, she just might not be able to venture out into the real world again.

Whatever shred of optimism Ethan Bing had left after becoming Broslin Chief of Police had been seared out of him by the unsolved murder of his wife two years ago. Then Sophie pops into his life, and she gets through his defenses like no other, but soon it becomes clear that she’s been selected as the killer’s next victim.

I LOVE IT!!

While this book will stand alone I believe you will enjoy it more if you read the first two before this one.

For me, books one and two were independent of each other sharing a location and secondary characters but not much else. This book (#3) is about Captain Bing (a prominent secondary character in the first two books). I’m not going to give anything away here but I really suggest reading the other two books first so you get more background on Bing before you read this. Even if you don’t read the first two before this one you will really enjoy this book. But, if you read this one first and then decide to read the others you may feel some regret.

I’m a big fan of series – ones where each book ends without a cliffhanger and can be read as a stand-alone but share common characters/locations – but the few time I’ve unknowingly read a series out of order I’ve usually been a little sad and wished that I’d read them in the proper order first.

Another Broslin Creek Hit!!

This is another great book by Dana Marton. Once I discovered her books I couldn’t seem to read them fast enough.

While each book is suspenseful, romantic and hard to put down once you start, the story lines are very different so in no way are you reading the same story again just with different lead characters. This book seemed a bit more emotional to me – the heroine has an abusive ex-boyfriend.

Broslin Bride by Dana Marton

Released June, 15, 2014

Self published

Series: Broslin Creek, Book 5

Synopsis

The worst time to be charged with murder is:

When you have no alibi for the night in question.
When you have no memory of the night in question.
When you told people you hated the victim.
When the detective is the 1st guy you ever slept with–which didn’t end well.

Check all of the above for Luanne Mayfair. If it wasn’t for bad luck, she wouldn’t have any luck at all. Okay, maybe a little luck. As it turns out, Detective Chase Merritt doesn’t hold grudges.

He still looks at Luanne just as he did in high school, except he’s grown some serious ‘hot cop’ muscles–very distracting when Luanne is trying to avoid the very law Chase represents.

Is she the killer? Is she being framed? Is she the next victim? As Chase and Luanne race to find some answers, danger and heat ratchet up in this fast-paced romantic mystery that will stop your heart one second, then steal it in the next.

Review

Another great Broslin Creek Story.

I just love this series and Dana Marton doesn’t disappoint with this latest story. As usual, there was hot chemistry and enough suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. I won’t give anything away but I will say that early on I thought I knew who-done-it; boy was I wrong!

The story synopsis tells you everything else you need to know other than you need to read this now!

But then, instead of arresting the suspect, why is she falling in love with him?

Review

A Powerful Broslin Creek Story.

I have to say that from very near the beginning I thought I had the story figured out; I should have known better! While some of what I suspected did come into play it wasn’t at all the way I had thought it was going to be. And that’s the beauty of Dana’s writing. She did her usual wonderful job of crafting an interesting, can’t wait to get to the end, page turner.

Hunter is Captain Bing’s younger brother and Gabi is an officer on the Broslin police force. Both of them have difficult histories that make them who they are. What Hunter thinks he wants doesn’t turn out to be what he actually wants and needs, and the same goes for Gabi. While this story is somewhat connected to the others in this series you don’t need to have read the first books to enjoy this one (but you really should read them!).

You know from the book’s synopsis that Hunter is charged with murder. And, of course, since he is the hero he can’t be guilty. But how his innocence gets proven is how Dana makes this such a great, suspenseful romance.

A Sweet Story That Made Me Cry 🙂

I’ve had this book on my TBR list since it was published. I love Dana Marton’s books and there’s really no good excuse for why I haven’t read it until now (March 2016). Even though it’s been a while since I’ve read the other Broslin Creek books reading this one brought back all of my good memories of those stories. For such a short story (20 pages according to Amazon) it sure packed a punch.

This was such a wonderful treat by a fantastic author. If you don’t believe in miracles you just might change your mind after reading this sweet story.
