“No one spins a story quite like Lora Leigh” (Night Owl Reviews)—and when it comes to her “highly charged and carnal” (Fresh Fiction) Breed novels, nobody does it better. Now, the #1 New York Times bestselling author tells a story of two Breeds who are united by animal desires, only to find it’s vengeance that stirs the mating heat…

He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities—the last one being Gideon.

Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins.

Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him—Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him.

That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy.

And he’s on her scent…

Revenge or love everlasting?

The game he plays is deep, the stakes are high, he is the master at this game of deception, but what other way is there to play when the survival of your species and your very mate is at stake. One moment you will wonder at his genius then next you’ll question his very sanity, but that is no more than he’s been doing himself for years, ever since he left a young Cat after swearing revenge on the young girl that saved his life and irrevocably tied them together and insured his forays into madness. He’s been many years without his mate. She’s been hidden beneath the veil of tribal magic. Now the veil is lifted and it’s just a matter of time before he claims her permanently. The question is… does he want his revenge or does he want his mate? Who is her mate? Is he Gideon? Is he G? or perhaps his latest incarnation as Graeme? No matter the face he shows the world, he’s managed to accrue his chits and grown quite a loyal following. Makes it just a bit difficult for the poor Jonas to pin him down.

I think up until Gideon I had thought one of the most intriguing characters created by Ms. Leigh was Jonas. I would be very hard pressed to choose after a Bengal’s Quest. Can I just say wow? Talk about a very complex character. And for such a complex alpha male you better believe you’ll get a similarly complex heroine. You’d have to be a rather complex woman if you had a resident ghost co-inhabiting your body.

Thirteen years ago a group of Native American shaman performed a ritual transforming her from Fawn into Claire, a recently deceased girl from the tribe. A bit of plastic surgery had her living the lie for years. But unlike her friend Honor, Fawn never lost herself in the new identity. She didn’t end up in a loving, nurturing family. Instead she ended up in the care of a traitor. And while Fawn may have been her legal name, it wasn’t really her either. She was Cat. She was G’s creation, a Bengal waiting to emerge. Her life was a ticking time bomb waiting for revenge to happen. She was also on the genetic councils most wanted list.

I have totally loved this series from the very beginning. I wait impatiently for each new release. This time, I did something a little different. I decided to get the audible edition and listen while I read along. I can tell you that Brianna Bronte does an awesome job narrating. She has a great range in her voice and excellent skills in expressing the characters. Again I was totally awed by the skills of Ms. Leigh. I can’t wait to read To Wake a Sleeping Tiger.
