Perfect for readers of Maya Banks, Monica McCarty, and Sabrina Jeffries, Jennifer Haymore’s seductive Highland Knights series heats up with an electrifying tale of class warfare, fierce loyalties, and forbidden love.

With blood still drying on the front lines at Waterloo, Lady Grace Carrington helps an injured soldier to a British medical tent. Though she believes she’s pulled him to safety, in fact, she has put them both in grave danger: Because when his brilliant blue eyes meet hers, the passionate Scottish sergeant kisses her in a way that leaves her breathless and trembling. As the obedient daughter of an earl, Grace shouldn’t be tempted by someone so far below her station. But as a red-blooded woman, she longs for so much more.

As far as Duncan Mackenzie is concerned, getting stabbed in the arm was the best thing that ever happened to him. When he wakes on the battlefield, the sight of Grace’s lovely face sets his soul aflame. As an enlisted man and a farmer’s son, however, pursuing his guardian angel means facing the wrath of London society, not to mention his own superiors in the British Army. Aye, but he’d risk all that and more just to keep her in his arms.

Behind the lines loving in the Class Wars

Highland Heat brings the class wars of post-Napoleonic Victorian England down to a much more personal level when Lady Grace Carrington falls head over heels in love with Sergeant Duncan Mackenzie. But what starts out as a carefree tryst of exploration quickly becomes a heart-wrenching struggle with what society and family expect versus what the heart demands.Lady Grace has lived her life as the dutiful daughter of an earl. Quite on the shelf, this statuesque lady has no prospects she’s willing to consider and has every intention of remaining a spinster. She’ll live her days managing her father’s household and entertaining his peers. And while all of the ton might consider her staid and haughty nothing could be further from the truth at least not since a certain Sergeant awakened the desire within her. Now she is bent on discovering the joys of the marriage bed without the benefit of marriage. And the more she basks in the attention of Duncan Mackenzie the more determined she’ll become to see them married. Family and the ton be damned.

The Unbreakable Mackenzie isn’t feeling so unbreakable these days. Not when he awakens in the middle of a battlefield with an almost severed and broken arm and the most heartbreakingly beautiful angel standing over him. The more he gets to know his beautiful savior the deeper he falls for her. But alas, temptation aside, this is not a romance made in heaven. If they are discovered it could very well mean the end of him in a very permanent way and the ruination of his Grace. One does not meddle in the affairs of their betters, nor do they contemplate compromising the woman they love. Oh, but what he wouldn’t give for the love of such a lass!

If the demands of society were not enough, these two will face even greater challenges. Duncan’s new assignment as a Highland Knight will see them embroiled in the very dangerous intrigues of politics and the stirring of rebellion. Things will definitely get much worse before they get better. Highland Heat delivers plenty of steam and heat throughout. A great victorian historical romance, Highland Heat speaks to the political hotbed of the times while bringing the topic up close and personal with the challenges Grace and Duncan face. I would highly recommend it.
