Who to trust when there’s nowhere to turn?

Heather Luth knows nothing about the paranormal world until one awful night changes everything. Now she’s on the run — straight into the arms of forbidden love. Her mind knows better than to fall for a werewolf’s sunny smile and mesmerizing voice, but her heart — and destiny — have other ideas.

On the surface, Cody Hawthorne is warm, witty, and fun, but beneath his carefree facade, Heather sees a real man struggling to break free. Day by day, Heather and Cody grow closer and closer, unable to resist their simmering passion — while day by day, a serial murderer closes in on his prey. Duty fights desire; fear wrestles trust as the human world clashes with the paranormal in a tale of forbidden love.

There’s more than meets the eye on Twin Moon Ranch, home to a pack of shapeshifting wolves willing to battle for life and love.

* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, vampires, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance! *

A slow burning flame and flash fire love.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the pack Lothario. I mean everything we’ve seen from Cody so far says he’s got a devil may care, love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude. He’s never too serious and never too far from getting his groove on with everything in a skirt. But what if the pack Lothario is tired of the facade he’s built? What if he just wants people to take him serious and see the real him underneath the facade? What if he wants the promise of a fated mate like his brother Ty has found? But fate isn’t being nice when she dishes up temptation in the very human, Heather. She’s temptation personified and totally forbidden. She’s also running scared and wary of all of his advances. Ms. Heather is going to take a bit of wooing. Something he’ll have to fit in around his search for a serial killer… one that all indications say might be a vampire. He’ll also have to keep his wooing out of the limelight… after all mating a human is forbidden and there is no way his father is going to accept his choice in a mate.

Heather is on the run. A night out on the town with her girlfriend Cathy ended in tragedy. Cathy is dead and Heather is running from the very real threat of vampires. Having just barely escaped her first encounter, Heather is staying one step ahead of the pursuing vampires. At the end of her finances and needing to recoup a bit, she stops in a small town in Arizona and takes a teaching job out at the Twin Moons Ranch. After her very harrowing experience she’s just a bit wary of all men… but there is just something about Cody that calls to her. And while at first you might suspect that Heather is a bit timid nothing could be further from the truth. This is one woman that might have to come to terms with the very real threat she’s been dealing with, but she will come out swinging when pushed against the wall. Heaven help you if this gal has a hockey stick in hand.

I totally loved watching the transformation in Cody. Heather’s insights from teaching help her to see the man beneath the facade. While the wooing might be creating a slow burn, the tension definitely ignites into a flash fire when these two finally come together. Desert Blood has become my favorite so far. Not sure if that’s due to the vampire threat, serial killer angle or the reformation of a bad boy, but the combination is a total winner.
