A Wedding in Somewhere, TX is a unique blend of voices telling the eventful and disastrous calamity of happenings that create a total chaos of country superstar, Brent Kane’s wedding to his sweetheart, DJ Diaz. I mean how many grooms wake up in jail after their bachelor party accused of human trafficking? And, things just keep getting worse as the day progresses. It’s a wonder the bride and groom make it to their ceremony intact, albeit not exactly in the clothes they planned. I fully expected the bride to throw up her hands and walk away. And, then she did…

“So, is that what you think this means? That our marriage is doomed because the wedding is a disaster? So what? Big deal. This wedding has nothing to do with us. and I hate to break it to you babe, but the success, or failure, of our marriage has everything to do with how we handle right now and nothing to do with the actual wedding.” – Brent

This is one smart man, really in love with a woman he won’t let walk away. Brent has a way of reminding you what it’s all about in the end. It’s not about the wedding. It’s about the couple and their love for one another and the commitment they have to making things work no matter the challenge life throws their way.

A Wedding in Somewhere, TX wasn’t quite what I expected. It is not the typical collection of novellas. Rather, it is a cohesive story told by the various authors in chapter installments from different perspectives. Each chapter is a slice of life from different characters involved around and in the wedding. It’s rather like watching a movie where the scenes change and you see what is happening with different characters until you get to the end and it all comes together. It’s different and it really works well. I quite enjoyed reading A Wedding in Somewhere, TX and think anyone who enjoys contemporary western romance with a bit of humor will really enjoy it as well.
