Suspenseful and spicy but a quick read.

I love books by Elle James and this one kept me glued to my ereader until the end. Unfortunately, that end came a bit too quickly for me. I know that all books must end at some point but an awful lot of stuff happened in this story and I think a quick epilogue would have wrapped things up a bit neater.

Those things being said, based on the dedication this book must have been difficult to write so I applaud Elle for telling this story. You can read the dedication if you “look inside” on Amazon to see what I mean.

Mia and Bear have good chemistry and when things finally come together for them it was hot. The Brotherhood Protector books are enjoyable stories and I look forward to reading more of them.

Warning: this book may contain triggers for anyone who has suffered from a sexual assault.

Series: True Heroes, Book 1
Synopsis

As an NYPD officer, Benjamin Stone is married to his job, determined to clean up the drug-infested streets. His partner, Rob, always has his back—except when Rob and his girlfriend, Andrea, play matchmaker at his expense. On Ben’s birthday, they’re at it again. Andrea’s friend is exactly Ben’s type, even if he stubbornly will never admit it. But it’s not the lithe brunette’s looks that intrigues Ben; it’s the hurt in her eyes.

Ella Parker is bright, beautiful, kind—and, thanks to one horrific night, severely damaged. She’d rather be training for her black belt or watching TV in her favorite pair of pajamas than be dragged out on a blind date. Sure enough, Ben swaggers into the club, locks onto Ella, and claims he’s not interested—despite the irresistible chemistry between them. So Ella decides two can play at that game. But when her dangerous past comes back to haunt her, Ben will break all the rules of seduction to keep her safe.

Ella and Ben are hot!

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Madden and I enjoyed it a lot. Ben is an a$$ at the beginning of the book and I loved to hate him. Ella wants no part of a relationship that her best friends are trying to force on her. This story was entertaining and complex with a lot of suspense. I enjoyed seeing Ben realize how much of an a$$ he’d been to Ella and other women.

I’ll be reading the next book in this series when it comes out.

Great romance, good suspense.

Deadly Obsession is another great book by Elle James. Her books rarely disappoint me. This one had a lot of tension, both romantic and whodunit. Jillian and Chance were great together. Although I thought I figured out some parts early I still couldn’t put it down. Turns out I wasn’t right on all counts!

A very sweet story with Molly McLain’s trademark super sexy times.

Although this story is part of the Sapphire Falls world you don’t need to know anything about those books to enjoy this one. I haven’t read any of them yet and didn’t notice anything confusing at all when I read this one.Ellie unexpectedly inherits half of her paternal uncle’s estate; she hadn’t had any contact with him for several years. The other surprise is the person who inherits the other half – Dillon, ‘a man who considers himself her uncle’s step-son. Ellie didn’t even know that her uncle had been in a serious relationship. When they first meet Dillon doesn’t want to like Ellie; he sees her as an interloper and expects her to be a cold and unfeeling person. He pretty quickly realizes that this is not the case.

The two of them hit it off and begin to open up to each other. This story captivated me from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. Fortunately – since I started it late at night – it’s a novella length story. For such a short story it’s amazing how much character development Molly was able to provide. She has written very sweet characters with just the right amount of angst. While the sexy time doesn’t really get hot and heavy until chapter 7 (and there are only 8 chapters) rest assured that all of the descriptive stuff you’ve come to expect in Molly’s books is still there.

This story is now one of my favorite Molly McLain stories. I loved the epilogue!

A great collection of very short stories.

This is a great collection of very short stories – just right for when you only have a few minutes to read something – like in a waiting room or right before bed.Delilah Devlin has been my queen of short, sexy, hot stories for quite some time now and Rogue Hearts is another hit for me.

I’ve been an avid reader of Elle James longer stories and now she comes up with a great short story with a twist I didn’t anticipate; I loved it!.

(BTW – in case you don’t know it already here’s a fun tidbit – these two great writers are sisters.)

The current price of 99 cents is worth it for just these two stories but 14 short stories for only 99 cents is a real bargain. Even if the price goes up you’ll still be getting a lot of fun stories and you might find a new favorite author among them!
