Series: Kitty Katt Series, Book 12

As Kitty can tell you, it’s not easy being the wife of the vice president—especially not when he’s an alien from the Alpha Centauri system. But she and her A-C husband, Jeff, have learned how to roll with whatever life and the bad guys throw at them—they think.
When the Alpha Centauri Planetary Council requests a visit with the president and vice president, things look politically dicey. When the most dangerous prisoners in the most secure supermax prison escape with ease, things look bad. But when the Mastermind releases a virus that kills people in a week, things go to Defcon Worse fast.
Now it’s up to Kitty to save everyone important in the U.S. government—including her mother, her husband, and herself—before the virus spreads through the rest of the country, and then the world. Plus she’s facing invisible attackers, crazed assassins, a teenager in hiding, the most dangerous train ride ever, the disappearance of her beloved flyboys, and a mysterious alien who could be an enemy or the ally she needs.
And this time, the Mastermind’s made it very personal. Either he’s going down…or Kitty is.

Oh, how I love roller coaster rides… Whee!
When I pick up a book in the Kitty Katt series it’s always with a smile and an expectation of plenty of laughs, some on the edge of my seat moments and total joy in the escape the read gives me. Alien in Chief was no exception and true to form it lived up to my expectations. While someone could certainly pick up any of the books in the series and read them as a stand-alone, I would recommend that you read them in order for the full enjoyment of the series. Understanding the references to prior events would certainly make much more sense and give you much more enjoyment of the series.
In Alien in Chief, Kitty Katt Martini is up to her usual unconventional superhero moves to defeat the Mastermind. And because the Mastermind has figured out that the good guys have figured out his identity and game plan he’s brought his end game… as in a world ending life-threatening virus that threatens to decimate the planet if a cure isn’t found and soon. On a much more immediate, up close and personal note all of our favorite politicians, aliens and friends have been infected and this virus runs its course in a rather quick succession. So Kitty has about a week to find an answer to all their problems. Oh, you noticed that plural there did you? Yep, a deadly virus isn’t even the first of their problems.
First, they have the political issue of another visit by aliens to Earth. After the last few violent encounters, no one wants to rock the boat and freak out the human denizens of Earth with a rather large spaceship hovering over D.C. At the same time, they must deal with proposals to close the NASA compound. So why not kill two birds with one stone and host their alien visitors in the NASA compound? Oh and then you have the breakout of their worst enemies from prison, an assassin on the loose which might well prove to be one of their rogue A-C family members, a new mover and shaker in the weapons industry and last but not least offering sanctuary to beloved assassin, Silas’ teenage daughter who has been declared enemy number one by said industry moguls.
The danger is high. The action is tight. The loving between Jeff and Kitty is still hot and on par. Our secondary cast of characters continues to grow with some you’ll absolutely love and perhaps a few you’ll totally hate. Be prepared to lose a few friends and enemies… such is the nature of a real life game of chess. Take a trip on the presidential railways… it promises to be a heck of a roller coaster ride with enemies attacking from all sides.
Once again Ms. Koch has provided this reader with a very engaging and enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read Camp Alien which hits the shelves on May 3rd. So if you’re looking for a SyFy story with that superhero element and plenty of action you won’t want to miss this one.
