Ember Wells knows the meaning of terror. A reporter by day, her nights are spent hiding from a serial killer known as The Seeker. He’s stalked her for a year, terrorizing her through the lens of a camera.
Held prisoner by paranoia, fear becomes a lonely companion…until she meets Angelo Dimitrov, a dark, mysterious stranger who sets her world on fire.Angelo Dimitrov is not what he seems. Sexy as sin and shrouded in secrets, he appears out of nowhere and moves in next door. Should Ember run from this stranger with the moss green eyes or give in to her heart and be burned alive…
A romantic suspense with a paranormal flair The Seeker held my attention from the first. Ember Wells is a gutsy photojournalist who has been the target of a recently imprisoned serial killer for over a year. Thinking herself finally free of worry and celebrating her new promotion to head photojournalist she contemplates hooking up with the detective that worked with her. Her first day in her new office she’s hit on by her skeevy co-worker, cornered by the creepy new janitor and fawned over by the bashful mailroom boy who delivers a mysterious manila envelope. When her celebration plans for the evening are canceled by her best friend she heads home where she meets her new next door neighbor, Angelo. The attraction and interest is immediate. Any further plans to pursue a relationship with the detective fly out the window. As what appear to be copycat murders begin to mount and Ember and her best friend, Laura receive threats and photos, the suspense and tension build in tandem to the heat that develops between her and Angelo. The storyline and the romance are fast paced. While you might feel the relationship develops into off the wall sex all too quickly the paranormal aspect lends believability. While I might want to question love at first sight the chemistry and nature of the paranormal is another thing all together. The story has great secondary characters. Ember is spunky and full of good humor under trying circumstances. Angelo is jealous, possessive and protective but most of all he’s a loving alpha male. The identity of the villain will keep you guessing until the end. The only down side I saw to this story is that it was originally published as serial episodes. I would have been quite frustrated being left on cliff hangers. I’m so glad I was able to read and review the complete set. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal romance that will keep them guessing. I will definitely be putting this author on my list to keep track of new releases.
