Gabe wants Alec between the sheets…too bad Alec’s undercover already…
Rich kid. Party boy. Gabe is tired of the labels. He’s a smart guy, but ever since he got kicked out of grad school, people are only interested in his no-limit credit card and his pierced ears…and other places.
Tall, dark, and scowling Alec hates Vermont, with its artisanal-freaking-everything and its irritating people. To be fair, most people irritate Alec, including the FBI director who sent him here to investigate a smuggling scheme involving yoga mats.
When one of the cutest twinks Alec’s ever seen takes an interest, Alec knows there’s an ulterior motive. No one with multi-colored hair, piercings, and an ass like that would want boring, serious Alec. The kid must be up to no good. Either way, Alec can’t blow his cover. If only he could keep his hands off of Gabe long enough to find out what he’s up to…
Can they ignore their explosive chemistry long enough to foil a smuggling ring? Or will their budding relationship sink faster than a yacht full of contraband?

Great story; I loved it!
Undercover is the first book I’ve read by Eliot Grayson and now I wonder why. This story grabbed me right from the start and didn’t let go. I started reading it early in the morning, while I was still in bed. I didn’t stop, or leave the bed, until I finished it. It had been a while since I read an MM Romantic Suspense story and this one was a great way to break that dry spell.
Alec is undercover and he has principles that he doesn’t want to break. He is attracted to Gabe but Gabe is important to the case that Alec is working on so he won’t let himself cross certain lines – at least not at first. This leads to a lot of slow-burn sexual tension between them and that’s one of the things I really liked about the story.
Of course, it’s not difficult to know that things will blow up and Gabe will find out about Alec’s deception before Alec has a chance to tell him. But how that was done was a nail-biting, heart-pounding scene that had me on pins and needles.
The creative way that Alec uses to get Gabe to talk to him again was perfect. I thought it was a very romantic thing he did, especially for someone who’s not really romantic at all. I loved the epilogue, too.

I’m an editor by day and a romance writer by night, at least on a good day. I’m more of a procrastinator by day and despairing eater of chocolate by night when inspiration doesn’t flow and my day-job clients are driving me to insanity. Go ahead and guess which of these is more common.
My steady childhood diet of pulp science fiction, classic tales of adventure, and romance novels surreptitiously borrowed from my grandmother eventually led me to writing; I picked up my first M/M romance a few years ago and I’ve been enjoying the genre as a reader and an author ever since.
