After a long year of tragedy and battles, Cahill of the Southern Appalachia pack is hoping to spend a little time alone on his mountain. But with no mate to worry about, the safety of the pack falls on his shoulders, as does paying off the guards he’d hired to keep the mountain safe while he was away. Protecting the pack means heading off to participate in an underground fight club where shifters take to the ring for fame, fortune, and debt repayment. A ring some don’t make it out of alive.

To the owners and fighters at The Pack House, Trinity and Piers seem like any other mated couple. And that’s exactly what she needs them to think. Years of running from the truth has set Piers on a path headed right into the fight cage, and Trinity has followed, even though the violence and the noise are something out of her nightmares. But the two have plans, and a handful of fights is all that stands between them reaching their dreams and banishment…or death.

When Cahill sets his sights on Trinity, nothing can stand in the way of the fighter getting his fated mate. Not the heavy debt his pack must repay, not the other fighters out to show him who’s stronger and more skilled in the ring, not even the possibility that she may be mated to another. Once a fighter, always a fighter—and Cahill’s more determined than ever to throw a knockout punch for the chance of a real win with the woman of his dreams.

Claiming his chance at a forever love

A weary and grieving Cahill’s wish for peace is rudely thrust aside when he returns home to the demands the mercenary guards place upon the pack for payment. Cahill knows his pack has suffered enough. So, rather than offer his alpha up to a fight club to repay the debt, he takes on the obligation himself. Three fights and the pack’s debt is settled. How hard could that possibly be? Oh did I forget to clarify the rules? Three fights in a fight club exuding testosterone, pheromones and the one thing that could possibly make it near impossible to stay in his human skin… his fated mate. THE rule… no changing… not in the ring… not in front of the humans… not on the property… not even in private. If the past year was a challenge then this just tipped the scales on near impossible. To top that off, it appears his mate already has a mate… or does she? There is a mystery here to be solved and Cahill will surely get to the bottom of it. After all, he’ll do anything to claim his chance at an HEA.

Discovering your fated mate while living under the pretense that you are already mated has thrown Trinity into an untenable position. She and Piers are so close to realizing their goals. But all it would take is one word from Cahill and the gig is up. What to do? Does she tell him? Does she tell Piers? How can she protect the two men in her life? One she has known since toddlerhood, the other she knows not at all… and yet, she would do anything to protect him. They are so close to their goals… just two fights left and they can walk away… but what happens if these two are pitted against each other? Any woman’s absolute nightmare to be sure. It’s hard enough pretending to be subservient in an all boys club when reality is so far from the pretense. And gahhh, all the fighting. Will it never end? All Trinity wants is a bit of peace.

Trinity and Cahill were definitely fated for each other. Cahill has had enough fighting to last a lifetime. Both just want peace, pack and a life together. And, when these two get together, the sparks definitely fly. Claiming His Chance is an excellent start to this spin off series. I’m really looking forward to reading Pier’s story in Claiming His Fight. I absolutely loved the Feral Breed series and this one is on a definite roll already. If you’re looking for a great paranormal series with plenty of alpha hotness then Feral Breed Followings promises to deliver.
